ABOUT nellibellingen.
Promised myself - no new blogs - but Izzy says the Bellingen Shire warrants one. My history in this area, as far as I know, reaches back to my parents' honeymoon in Urunga in 1948. I grew up in Sydney in the suburb of Belmore which was then a new estate. Each year we holidayed in Urunga. In the early 1970s, I came to Urunga to live and opened the WHITE ROSE TRADING COMPANY. I later married a Bellingen Boy and had two children at BELLINGER RIVER DISTRICT HOSPITAL. In 1987, I went back to the City for 6-7 years and then returned to Bellingen and Urunga where I was a Casual Teacher.
In 2001, I went to Armidale and then North to the Tweed. Last year I went to Ulmarra on the Clarence for 10 months or so and now, after 9 years, I return to the Bellingen Shire. This time to Raleigh.
Another amputee milestone – my “wet leg”.

My new waterproof prosthetic leg made its debut at the pool today, and it
was a fascinating experience. Watching the bubbles rise from my prosthetic
limb...
